ASPFishway™
A better onramp for your fishway
Overview
The ASPFishway™ is a modular fish-passage system that can be used for low-head obstacles or as an entry component for high- head dams. It allows fish to swim up a series of baffles that reduce the flow velocity and turbulence. The angle of the ASPFishway™ is fully adjustable, as is the flow of water, for site conditions and fish species. The ASPFishway™ is designed to optimize volitional entry and improve river connectivity.
Benefits
Volitional Fish Passage
The ASPFishway™ allows fish to choose when and how to pass the obstacle, without relying on external stimuli or cues. This improves the survival and fitness of the fish and reduces the risk of predation or injury.

Adaptable to Site and Species
The ASPFishway™ can be customized to fit the specific characteristics of the site and the target fish species. The angle, length, and flow rate of the fishway can be adjusted to create the optimal conditions for fish passage. The ASPFishway™ can also accommodate different sizes and swimming abilities of fish, from small minnows to large salmonids.

Cost-effective and Durable
The ASPFishway™ is made of aluminum, which reduces the structural weight and prevents corrosion. The modular design allows for easy installation and maintenance, and lowers transportation and labor costs. The ASPFishway™ is also resistant to debris and sediment accumulation, and can withstand harsh weather and environmental conditions.
Features
Flow Box and False Weir

How It Works
The ASPFishway™ consists of 10-foot-long aluminum sections that can be joined together to form a fishway of any length. The installed angle of a fully assembled ASPFishway™ can be adjusted to match the slope of the obstacle and the desired flow rate. The internal baffles create resting pools and guide the fish up the fishway with minimal stress and fatigue. The ASPFishway™ can be installed on any type of structure, such as concrete, wood, or metal, and can be anchored or suspended as needed. The ASPFishway™ can also be used as the entry component of the Whooshh high-head dam fish passage and fish-removal solutions, where fish are lifted above the waterline and sent through a slide to the imaging and sorting components.
