Selector™
Detect, Select, Reject, Protect
Overview
The Selector™ blends and converts existing fish passage and prevention devices from all-or-nothing to automatically selective. It allows native and desired fish species to migrate freely while blocking invasive and undesired fish, using our real-time image recognition and automatic sorting technology.
Benefits
Selective fish passage
The Selector™ allows only the desired fish species to pass over the dam, while preventing the access of invasive or unwanted species. This helps to preserve the native biodiversity and ecological balance of the river.
Volitional and non-invasive fish sorting
The Selector™ does not require any manual handling or delay of the fish, as they volitionally enter the ASPFishway™ and are automatically sorted by the GateKeeper™, based on the FishlRecognition™ imaging. This minimizes the stress and injury to the fish and ensures a humane and efficient fish passage.
Easy integration and adaptation
The Selector™ can be easily integrated with the existing fish passage and prevention infrastructure, such as fish ladders, nature-like bypasses, or weirs, by modifying them with the modular features of the Selector™. This reduces the design, installation, and economic costs of implementing selective fish passage.
Real-time monitoring and verification
The Selector™ provides computational analyses and digital image files, which are sequentially uploaded to the cloud, of the fish that enter and exit the ASPFishway™. This enables easy and accurate fish monitoring and verifiable fish counts for managers and other stakeholders.
